Your Voice is Powerful.
Your Story is Needed.

In light of recent Congressional hearings and negative media coverage, it has become increasingly crucial for us to proactively shape the narrative surrounding our industry and emphasize the invaluable services we provide to seniors in our communities.

Now is the time for you and other people on your senior leadership team to attend the Argentum Public Policy Institute, a platform that empowers us to tell our story directly to lawmakers. Now, more than ever, we need to ensure that our voices are heard and that the true value of our industry is recognized.

By participating, we can engage with policymakers, share success stories, and foster a deeper understanding of the vital role our industry plays in supporting seniors’ well-being.

Speaker: Chris Hyatt, Co-CEO, New Perspective Senior Living

Congress needs accurate perspective as America’s population rapidly ages. A recent hearing in the Senate Special Committee on Aging showcased the flawed opinions among policy makers that have formed over the years as they have avoided addressing the long-term care needs of the nation. Argentum’s Public Policy Institute, convening senior living advocates and professionals from across America, provides a megaphone for constituents who seek to inform their Congressional delegation of the importance of senior living. Utilizing research, innovation, and personal experiences, Argentum will give you the resources to tell our story like never before.

Speakers:

  • Maggie Elehwany, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs, Argentum
  • Arick Morton, Chief Executive Officer, NIC MAP Vision
  • Shanu Aggarwal, Co-Founder, AlphaROC

Scrutiny of assisted living on Capitol Hill always neglects a cornerstone of our communities—the value they consistently provide through high satisfaction rates and cost-effective care. Defining and detailing the important work assisted living caregivers undertake each day will emphasize the need for Congress to embrace innovation in these communities instead of attacking it.

Our panel will look at how assisted living providers are partnering with health systems in delivering value-based care, as well as implementation of evidence-based practices that showcase the care and cost-effectiveness offered by these communities. The panel will also review ways that industry, federal, and state governments are driving further care innovations to put home and community-based living options at the forefront for seniors.

Speakers:

  • Chris Dawe, President, Curana Health
  • Alan Fairbanks, President, Value-Based Care Alliance, Serviam Care Network
  • Johanna Hickey, Associate Director, Collaborative Studies of Long-Term Care, Program on Aging, Chronic Illness, and Long-term Care, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Chirag Patel, Chief Medical Officer, Hansa Medical Group

Moderator: Maggie Elehwany, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs, Argentum

This session will highlight the development of apprenticeships and other senior living workforce programs, engagement with organizations on securing foreign-born workers in our communities, Argentum’s legislative strategy for much needed immigration reform, and the coalitions and institutions advancing these priorities.

Speakers:

  • David Grabowski, PhD, Professor of Health Care Policy, Harvard Medical School

  • Ashante Abubakar, Vice President, Workforce Development

  • Paul Williams, Vice President of Government Relations, Argentum

  • Dan Kenyon, Executive Director, Indiana Assisted Living Association (IALA)
