The Argentum workforce framework leverages federally supported programs such as the American Job Centers, Job Corps, community colleges, and regional community-based workforce organizations. In addition, work with other education, and career organizations provides the association with a well-rounded strategy.

The Argentum Health Care Apprenticeship Expansion Program (HAEP) is currently addressing the skills gap in healthcare by growing a strong pipeline of workers with industry-identified skills and competencies, with a special focus on careers in senior living. This industry-led initiative supports employers that are building career paths for target occupations, including caregivers, CNAs, LPNs, and RNs. Through a four-year federal grant with the U.S. Department of Labor, the collaborative is developing apprenticeship opportunities in healthcare leadership—including supervisors, clinical directors, and executive directors—as well as cybersecurity. This $6.2 million grant is just the first in a series of grants the association seeks to acquire over the next three years. These federal grants support the association’s ongoing strategy to provide educated, trained, and qualified human resources to its member organizations.

Furthermore, Argentum is exploring opportunities through the resources of the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) federal funding to provide greater emergency support to Senior Living workers participating in workforce programs such as apprenticeships and other types of training. Argentum and its partners plan to enroll and support more than 7,200 apprentices by February 2024.
