Scottsdale, AZ — Cadence Living is excited to announce that Michelle Cornelius has joined the corporate management team as Vice President of Memory Care Engagement. Michelle will have principal responsibility over the Revere Memory Care programming across the Cadence portfolio of communities. Prior to joining Cadence, Michelle was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at Cypress Homecare Solutions. During her time at Cypress, Michelle implemented a dementia-specific homecare program that was rolled out across the country. Michelle brings her extensive experience in dementia care having also managed memory care units in both skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities.
With a Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Education in Human Resource Development, Michelle has devoted the majority of her career to working with the senior population. Understanding adult learning, Michelle believes that through education and communication holistically, we can better serve our residents and our team members.
Michelle is a respected speaker on dementia care and, has also been a support group leader for the Alzheimer’s Association, served on the board for the Arizona chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association in 2012-2013, has been an Alzheimer’s Impact Movement Ambassador to Arizona’s federal representatives, a facilitator for Dementia Friendly Arizona, a regular facilitator for Duet’s Finding Meaning and Hope group, and supports other local dementia initiatives.
Michelle is a mom of two teenage boys and their adopted dog, Luna. She is an avid hiker and loves cooking for others.
