CONCORD, CA – Carlton Senior Living LLC, the Concord, Calif.-based owner and operator of 11 existing Northern California senior living communities, has agreed to buy a 3.68 acre site in Sonoma County, just north of Santa Rosa, for a new senior living complex.
Carlton Senior Living plans to seek development approval for more than 138 rental apartments – including independent living, assisted living and memory care options – on the site, which is adjacent to the Larkfield Shopping Center at the northeast corner of Old Redwood Highway and Pacific Heights Drive. The property is already zoned for commercial, residential and mixed use, and, once planning and design reviews are complete, the company expects it will take about one year to finish construction and prepare the $30+ million community for its first residents. “We’re excited to be joining the Santa Rosa community. There is a growing need for senior living options here and throughout the region,” says Dave Coluzzi, president of Carlton Senior Living.
“Residents will appreciate this new community’s high-quality design and furnishings and our commitment to providing a wide range of activities, fresh, healthy hand-crafted food and truly compassionate care in a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere,” he says. They will also benefit from the community’s close proximity to the new Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, as well as to the renowned Sonoma Wine Country region.
“Our Santa Rosa community will showcase some new, exciting options and amenities for residents,” says Coluzzi. Carlton Senior Living is well known, for example, for its award-winning diabetes management and fallprevention programs. It also offers a unique approach to Alzheimer’s and memory care, with programs that ignite residents’ imagination through multisensory activities, while preserving their dignity, choice and sense of personal wellbeing. The Memory Care Program will feature individual apartments and a dedicated living room, fireplace, private courtyard and indoor/outdoor dining options. “We provide a full spectrum of servicescustomized to each individual’s needs,” Coluzzi adds.
The new development is expected to create more than 100 new employment opportunities for the area. For more than three decades, Carlton Senior Living communities have provided Northern California seniors with an array of individually tailored care options – ranging from independent and assisted living to award-winning health and memory care programs. Our residents enjoy delicious, healthy, prepared from scratch food and a wide range of activities and entertainment in a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere where they can make friends, enjoy life and continue to thrive. As a company, we stand by our commitment to Love, Honor and Provide to all residents, family, and associates.
