Charlottesville, VA – Commonwealth Senior Living (“CSL”) announces that it completed the acquisition of Hermitage on the Eastern Shore from Pinnacle Senior Living in December of 2018. The community, located in Onancock, Virginia, has been re-branded as Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore and construction is well underway on $2.5 million worth of renovations which will include the addition of a new memory care neighborhood. This will be the first dedicated memory care program on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
“We’re privileged to bring our award-winning Sweet Memories program to the Eastern Shore,” said Richard Brewer, CEO of Commonwealth Senior Living. “As with all of our communities, we are making significant investments to provide residents with the personalized care and home-like environment that they deserve.”
Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore is CSL’s 22nd senior living community. It will offer residents three levels of care including independent living, assisted living, and memory care. CSL has already started offering several of its signature programs including Farm to Table and Today from the Bay dining, Promise to Veterans, Travel the World, Sweet Melodies, and others. These programs have been carefully and purposefully designed to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents and provide peace of mind to their families. Mr. Brewer continued, “Taking an active role in the communities we serve is at the heart of our Core Values. Our team members are already very involved in numerous organizations across Accomack County, and we will continue to support them with those efforts. We are also providing new educational opportunities through our Virtual Dementia Training program, caregiver support groups, and community seminars on aging.”
CSL has grown into the largest senior living provider in Virginia with 22 communities, over 1,550 residents, and 1,350 associates.
