In another social media news example, a June 11 post on the Times’ blog discusses a trial study being conducted by the National Institute on Aging to assess whether learning a new skill can help preserve cognitive function among seniors. Other studies have looked at the benefits of exercise, nutrition, and social interaction – and most researchers agree that a combination of all these activities works best to combat cognitive decline.
