VERO BEACH, Fla. – Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a regional senior living development and management company based in Vero Beach, received a “Best Practices” Award at Florida Senior Living Association’s 2018 Senior Living Conference. The award was in recognition of HRA’s “Farm to Fork” initiative and given to Chris Thompson, Vice President of Hospitality at HRA. The event was held July 24 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Thompson was key in introducing the “Farm to Fork” initiative to each of HRA’s senior living communities. Through this leading-edge program, individual HRA communities have partnered with local farms for fresh produce. In addition to this program, each community culinary team has created summer seasonal menus featuring farm fresh vegetables and salads daily.
