The House of Representatives is slated to pass over 59 bills coming from five different oversight committees addressing the opioid crisis.  The Senate Finance Committee has also unanimously approved legislation that combines 22 bills recently introduced by committee members.  The Senate opioid package includes provisions that would expand telehealth access for addiction treatment, remove lifetime limits under Medicaid for medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorder, and support treatment through family-focused residential programs. It would also require that health care professionals use electronic prescribing for certain Medicare-covered controlled substances.

Argentum is continuing to carefully monitor provisions that could impact senior living providers and the residents they serve.
