The Mass-ALA Board of Directors announced the selection of Brian Doherty as the new President and CEO of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association, effective July 9, 2018.
Brian brings to Mass-ALA a strong and well-established track record in association management and government affairs. Brian has spent the last five years leading and improving two local Massachusetts associations within the health care and real estate space. He served as the chief executive of the Massachusetts Psychological Association and from 2013 to 2015, served as CEO of the Northeast Association of Realtors.
Brian also comes to Mass-ALA with a strong government affairs background, having served in a number of government affairs positions from 2006 to 2013, while he was with the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. Through Brian’s leadership, Mass-ALA intends to continue to advocate the independence and freedom of choice for older adults, as we proceed forth as a leading voice on senior issues in the Commonwealth. With a growing, aging population, Mass-ALA’s mission is more important than ever as it looks to provide education and resources to the members, while advocating for important public policy measures at the State House.
