Medicare Advantage premiums are expected to remain stable next year for about 67 percent of enrollees, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Monthly premiums are expected to drop by about 4 percent, or $1.19. The 2016 average premium was $32.59 per month. Enrollment is projected to increase to 18.5 million enrollees next year.
Medicare open enrollment for 2017 Medicare health and drug plans begins October 15 and ends December 7. Beneficiaries can visit Medicare.gov (http://www.medicare.gov), call 1-800-MEDICARE, or contact their State Health Insurance Assistance Program. Beneficiaries who are satisfied with their current coverage do not need to take any action.
