WHEELING, Ill. (March 27, 2015) – The LaSalle Group, a national leader in residential memory care, will break ground this month on The Whitley of Wheeling, located at 156 W. Dundee Road. The new community will be The LaSalle Group’s first location designed for both assisted living and memory care residents.

The Whitley of Wheeling is the result of a partnership between The LaSalle Group, Texas Capital Bank, and Silverado Interests. The project is set to begin construction this spring and be completed by summer 2016.

The LaSalle Group will host an official groundbreaking event from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at the site. Wheeling President Dean Argiris, village trustees, and other village representatives are expected to attend.

The 90,000-square-foot community will bring approximately 70 full-time jobs to the area and provide specialized care to 34 memory care residents and 68 assisted living residents.

Situated on nearly 5 acres, the community will feature an innovative building design and cutting-edge technology to create a calm, safe, and enjoyable environment with personalized focus and attention to the residents, their lives and their well-being. To further support its memory care residents, the life engagement program will fulfill the need for artistic expression, physical activity, spiritual support, community connections, continuing education, and leisure.

“The LaSalle Group is known for offering the best quality of care available for residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory loss at our Autumn Leaves communities,” said Chief Operating Officer Joe Jasmon. “At The Whitley, we combine that expertise with specialized assisted living options to offer Wheeling-area seniors a range of residential choices that meet their needs.”

Family-owned and operated since 1990, The LaSalle Group designs, develops, builds, manages, and owns more than 40 Autumn Leaves memory care assisted living communities in six states, with plans to open an additional 11 by the end of 2015. The Irving, Texas-based company is currently looking at additional potential locations in Illinois.
