(Alexandria, Va.)—Argentum is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 Senior Living by Design awards. The annual awards program honors architects, design firms, and senior living providers who create communities of quality in innovative ways. Recipients of the 2019 awards include:
The five winning communities showcase how much “place” matters in design: They reflect their surroundings and blend into the history and culture of their locations, even when this means embarking on historic preservation. Each also exemplifies trends blending design and wellness, such as halls and gardens built for walking, comfortable and enticing game rooms for socializing, and lots of natural light.
In total this year, Argentum received 34 nominations from across the country, and the winners were selected by an independent panel of four judges from the architecture, design, and senior living fields.
“The increased number of nominations we received this year speaks to the growing importance of design in a high-quality community,” said James Balda, Argentum president & CEO. “Designers consciously incorporated ways to promote wellness and social interaction as well as to create harmonious places to live.”
The 2019 Senior Living by Design award winners are featured in the November/December issue of Senior Living Executive magazine. The Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference, May 18-20, in Tampa, Fla., will host a deep dive educational series on design in senior living.
