ALEXANDRIA, VA – On Sunday, December 19, 2021, we  lost a statesman, distinguished public servant, and tremendous supporter of seniors, Senator Johnny Isakson. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family, his former staff, and the people of Georgia whom he loved and served so ably for many years.

“Senator Isakson was a consistent and highly effective advocate for our nation’s elders and the senior living model of care,” said James Balda, President & CEO of Argentum.  Through his long time service on the Senate Finance and Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committees, Senator Isakson was one of the foremost experts on senior issues during his career in the U.S. House of Representatives and later the Senate.  In addition to his enthusiastic advocacy for the options presented by assisted, memory care and independent living communities, he was also very supportive of the role of state governments in regulating and working with providers to expand the opportunity for seniors to live in these settings.

“On behalf of Argentum members and the senior living industry, we extend our sincerest condolences to his wife, Dianne, and children, John, Julie and Kevin. We also extend our sympathy to his many House and Senate colleagues who had the honor of serving with him over the years.”
