Alexandria, Va. – Argentum, a national association advocating for quality of life for seniors, announces a new web tool to help senior living professionals and jobseekers locate and connect with relevant college programs.
The Education Pipeline addresses a problem that industry leaders identified in Argentum surveys and listening sessions: although there are thousands of education programs across the country, it is very difficult to evaluate the range of programs in a particular region specific to senior living careers.
The new web resource, which Argentum is making available to the public as part of its Senior Living Works initiative, focuses on 13 senior living occupations, including nursing aides, registered nurses, cooks, and executive directors. Visitors to the site can search by state and county to find related programs. As an added benefit, the site reports on how many students completed the program in the past two years, along with contact information for each school.
“This web resource was the next evolution of Argentum’s commitment to growing the pipeline of workers in senior living careers,” said Argentum President & CEO James Balda. Senior Living Works launched in 2018 as a way to raise awareness of senior living careers and support industry connections to education from K-12 through university. More than 520 Senior Living Works Ambassadors have signed on to build awareness and connections in their communities.
Pam Engle, Senior Vice President of People & Administration at New Perspective Senior Living, remarked on the Education Pipeline’s functionality and ease of use. “We can never attend all the recruiting events or support every program where we operate,” she said. “This tool is invaluable for our corporate planning and is also something that recruiters and hiring managers can use at the local level.” Engle serves as the chair of Argentum’s Human Resources Executive Roundtable, which provided input in the product’s development.
