New Senior Living Experience is First in Baltimore Area to offer Art and Education Focus with Robust Activities Program

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Atrium Village, the new rental senior living community in Owings Mills, Maryland has announced it is in final completion of a $13 million renovation which will offer a unique senior living experience in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The residences are part of a new trend in senior living which integrates an enriching and engaging lifestyle with unique art and lifelong learning experiences combined with a robust activities program. Construction and design have been completed on 187 new Independent Living apartments, 58 Assisted Living, and 20 Memory Care residences.

The unique rental model at Atrium Village is appealing to seniors because there are no entry or buy-in fees, or a commitment of retirement assets as with most senior living communities. The cost of an apartment, dining options, all activities, fitness, and other services are included in the monthly lease.

The modernization of Atrium Village has completely reimagined the property and buildings into a new continuum of care retirement community offering a personalized living experience for residents who have a passion for community life. Situated on more than seven acres of lush greenery, Atrium Village leads the Baltimore area with one of the most significant renovations of any senior living community. The renovation is part of a 20-year anniversary transformation to create a next generation senior living experience incorporating new modern architecture and elegant design with a welcoming hospitality focus.

The interior corridors, lobby, and common areas have been remodeled with new materials and finishes, creating a contemporary space with a high-end hospitality vibe. The community features an array of new services and upscale amenities in addition to two restaurant-style dining venues and two new bistros, a library, wellness center, salon, art studio, game room and cards room, a hospitality lounge, movie theater and family center.

An exclusive suite of artwork of more than 115 pieces chosen from more than 30,000 images enhance each of the living areas. The collection includes colorful aspirational and inspirational pieces of art, from impressionist paintings to objects, places, and vibrant flowers. Forty photographs of historic locations and landmarks throughout Baltimore are placed throughout the community.

A unique glass showpiece in the Atrium Village lobby on the fireplace stone wall was commissioned by Baltimore native Tim McFadden of McFadden Glass. The sculpture is from McFadden’s “Anemone” series and is comprised of ten glass wall plates which give the feeling of movement even though they are still. Once illuminated, the shadows from the transparency give the illusion of an underwater seascape.
