ALFA Announces New Board of Directors
Tiffany Tomasso, COO of Sunrise Senior Living
COO of McLean, Virginia-based Sunrise Senior Living, Tiffany Tomasso has been elected chair of the Assisted Living Federation of America’s Board of Directors. Tomasso succeeds Evrett Benton, CEO of Newton, Massachusetts-based Five Star Quality Care, whose term as chairman expired April 30.

commitment to senior living,” Benton says. “It will be a privilege to
pass the gavel to her as I know she’ll bring those same great qualities
to ALFA.”
Other top leaders elected to the ALFA Board of Directors include: Thilo Best, chairman and CEO of Horizon Bay Senior Communities; Deborah McAneny, COO of Benchmark Assisted Living; and Bruce Mackey, president and CEO of Five Star Quality Care.
Michel Augsburger, president and CEO of Chancellor Health Care, and Granger Cobb, president and co-CEO of Emeritus Senior Living, were elected as vice chairs. Mark Ohlendorf, co-president and CFO of Brookdale Senior Living, was re-elected as secretary; and John R. “Skip” Comsia, president and CEO of SRC Retirement Inc., was re-elected as treasurer.
Also continuing service as directors are: Brenda Bacon, president and CEO of Brandywine Senior Living; Laurie Bebo, president and CEO of Assisted Living Concepts; Loren Shook, president and CEO of Silverado Senior Living; Brad Klitsch, senior vice president of market development, Direct Supply; Steven Vick, CEO of Signature Senior Living; and G. Michael Leader, president and CEO of Country Meadows Retirement Communities. Vick will continue his service to ALFA as immediate past chairman.
