Argentum Joins Nearly 2,000 CEOs in Commitment to Advance Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

[current_event_date]

(Alexandria, Va.) – As part of the organization’s effort to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, Argentum’s president and CEO, James Balda, has signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ commitment.

This action is a pledge to lead Argentum in cultivating a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion.

The collective of nearly 2,000 signatories has already shared more than 1,400 best-known actions, exchanging tangible learning opportunities and creating collaborative conversations via the initiative’s unified hub, ceoaction.com.

“The engagement with CEO Action recognizes that responsibility for a workplace of diversity, equity, and inclusion starts here,” said Balda. “It serves as an important component in our ongoing and organization-wide diversity efforts, which are essential to our mission to promote choice, dignity, independence, and quality of life for seniors.”

A diverse and inclusive workforce facilitates community, but also drives innovation and creativity, points out CEO Action. A study found that 85 percent of those surveyed reported that diversity is a key component to fostering innovation.

Organizations joining the pledge are taking a step toward creating positive change. To help signatories take action, CEO Action is cultivating a new type of ecosystem centered around collaboration and sharing. The actions, available to all via ceoaction.com, showcase real-life examples of the open and transparent conversations that can cultivate more diverse and inclusive workplace environments. Learning from, and sharing, actions help companies drive greater engagement within their own programs, as well as mentor others on their journey. The addition of new signatories expands the impact of this work beyond the office to communities and industries.

“At Argentum, we’ve come together as a team to build and support our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative, which provides our staff a dedicated forum to have meaningful conversations and share experiences on civil rights, racial and environmental discrimination, poverty and homelessness, and beyond,” said Balda. “Our goal is to encourage openness and to allow our staff to discuss social issues that are important to them.”

As the leading national association exclusively dedicated to supporting companies operating professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities—representing approximately 75 percent of such communities in the industry—Argentum can help advance more diverse environments throughout the industry. Argentum also joins several of its member companies in committing to CEO Action.

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion is led by a steering committee of CEOs and leaders from Accenture, BCG, Deloitte US, The Executive Leadership Council, EY, General Atlantic, KPMG, New York Life, Procter & Gamble, and PwC. The coalition represents 85 industries, all 50 U.S. states, and millions of employees globally.
