Annual industry benchmark pairs provider rankings with deeper analysis of workforce, leadership, technology, ownership and growth

WASHINGTON, D.C. — July 29, 2026 — Argentum today announced the release of the 2026 Argentum Largest Providers Report, an expanded industry resource offering a comprehensive view of the organizations, strategies and leadership shaping the future of senior living.

For years, the Largest Providers list has served as an important industry benchmark, documenting the scale and reach of senior living operators across the United States. The 2026 report builds on that foundation by pairing the provider rankings with additional data and analysis illustrating how the industry is structured, where it is operating and how it continues to evolve.

The report includes rankings of the nation’s largest senior living providers overall, along with leading operators in assisted living, independent living, memory care and continuing care retirement communities. It also examines operational resident capacity, geographic reach, international operations, ownership structures, leadership representation and changes within the provider landscape.

“The 2026 Largest Providers Report reflects an industry that is not simply growing, but actively rethinking how it serves older adults and their families,” said James Balda, president and CEO of Argentum. “By bringing together provider rankings with deeper insight into workforce, leadership, technology, ownership and growth, the report gives leaders a more complete picture of where senior living stands today, and the strategic decisions that will shape its future. As demand accelerates, better data and shared understanding will be essential to building the workforce, capacity and trust our industry needs.”

Beyond size and scale, the 2026 report explores several priorities that will influence senior living’s next chapter. Additional analysis and articles address workforce perceptions and retention, women in leadership, artificial intelligence and implementation, and providers gaining momentum across the industry.

The expanded perspective comes as senior living prepares to serve a rapidly growing older population while navigating workforce pressures, changing consumer expectations, capital constraints and an increasingly competitive operating environment. The report is designed to help organizations of every size understand the forces reshaping the industry and inform strategic conversations about sustainable growth, workforce development, responsible technology adoption and the value senior living brings to residents, families, employees and communities.

The report is based on provider-reported data. Participation and reporting may vary from year to year, and changes in company structure, portfolio composition, terminology or survey response may affect comparisons. Viewed in that context, the report remains one of the industry’s most valuable resources for understanding the scope, diversity and direction of senior living.

The 2026 Argentum Largest Providers Report is available now.
