WASHINGTON, D.C. and LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Capitol Seniors Housing has announced the opening of Atria New City, an assisted living and memory care community in the town of New City, in Clarkstown, N.Y. The three-story, 70,000-square-foot community with 80 residential apartments is operated by Atria Senior Living.
“We’re excited to bring a top-quality senior living community to New City, an amazing community where residents want to live for the remainder of their lives,” said Dave Ennis, director of development, Capitol Seniors Housing.
“We’re very proud and thankful to everyone, especially local leaders, who worked with us on this amazing project. Residents and visitors of Atria New City will feel as though they’re in an exclusive hotel offering every amenity that seniors want and deserve, along with a vibrant social life encouraged by an extraordinary calendar of events, activities and outings.”
Designed by the Meyer Senior Living Studio, Atria New City is a modern, nontraditional senior living community with natural elements of wood and stone on the exterior. Inspired by the Hudson River Valley, the community’s interiors feature tones of blues, greens, and oranges.
Amenities include public and private dining, sports lounge and bistro, club room with fireplace seating, library, wellness center offering health check-ups and monitoring, and a multipurpose room for games and activities. Each amenity space is designed with flexibility in mind and access to natural materials and light. The memory care area is uniquely designed for the needs of its residents, including a warm dining and activity area with large, picturesque windows and a continuous indoor walking loop with a sunroom. Located on five acres, Atria New City also offers outdoor amenities, including patio seating off the dining room, seating areas to visit, and a green space in the rear of the property with walking paths for exercise.
The community will offer Atria’s programming including its signature events and activities program, Engage Life, which surveys its community residents to develop opportunities for joy, growth, and fulfillment tailored to their interests.
“We are excited to serve even more New York families with the opening of Atria New City,” said Kevin Ronk, senior vice president at Atria Senior Living. “Residents will safely enjoy the quality amenities, programs and service Atria is known for delivering. We are prepared with additional COVID-19 safety protocols and have adapted to allow safe connections and interactions among residents and family members.” Individuals may learn more about Atria’s COVID-19 response measures on their website AtriaSafeTogether.com.
“Atria New City is an ideal community for residents who are accustomed to enjoying both fine accommodations and great service,” said Joe McElwee, principal—development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “We are very appreciative of our team, our partners, and the Town of Clarkstown supervisors and staff who worked together to bring New City this senior living community that will serve the needs of senior adults and their families now and for generations to come.”
