Alexandria marks Brightview’s sixth community in Virginia

Baltimore, MD (July 15, 2025) – Brightview Senior Living, an award-winning provider of senior living that builds, owns, and operates nearly 50 communities along the East Coast, announces the grand opening of Brightview Alexandria. Located just five miles from Old Town and two miles from Kingstowne at 6509 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA, the community is situated in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Northern Virginia with close proximity to Washington, DC.

Brightview’s unique rental model allows residents to enjoy convenient living without a large entry fee or long-term commitment. At the helm of the community is Karen Stewart, Executive Director, who brings over a decade of senior living experience and leadership to the community.

“From the moment our new residents move in, they’ll see how our community supports their independence, connection, and wellness,” Stewart said. “We’re proud to offer a place where residents can thrive and truly feel at home.”

Brightview Alexandria offers 86 Independent Living apartments, 31 Assisted Living apartments, 14 Gallery Assisted Living apartments and 36 dementia care suites:

  • Independent Living (IL): IL residents experience the best of both worlds – premium services and amenities within their community, with retail and restaurant options nearby.

  • Assisted Living (AL):  AL is suited for residents who need assistance managing daily medications or need additional mobility support. Families, residents and associates collaborate to design a plan that maximizes everyone’s independence, possibilities and choice.

  • Gallery Assisted Living: These elevated AL apartment homes offer residents a choice of luxury, larger apartments as well as personalized concierge services to schedule appointments, arrange transportation and more.

  • Dementia Care: Brightview’s Wellspring Village neighborhood is specifically designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Residents live safely in apartments specifically designed to encourage independence, participate in social programs tailored to their abilities, interests and gifts, and receive care from trained memory care associates.

Community amenities include well-maintained grounds, chef-prepared meals with rotating menus, resident parking, and outdoor spaces for exercise, dining, gardening, and relaxing, including a walkway to the Franconia Park and Recreational Center. Additional features include an art studio, sewing room, hobby room, café, a well-stocked library with computer stations, fitness center, upscale pub, billiards, shuffleboard, movie theater, beauty and barber shop, spa-like massage center, and juice bar. Highly-trained, compassionate associates are onsite 24/7, and the community features security-controlled entrances.

“We’re proud to open our doors in Alexandria and bring the transformative Brightview experience to even more families,” said Doug Dollenberg, President and CEO at Brightview Senior Living. “Time and again, we hear from residents’ families about the remarkable difference our associates make in their loved ones’ lives.”

Brightview’s award-winning culture and communities were recently honored once again with national recognition for excellence, with inclusion on the annual Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine’s 2025 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list, and by U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living Ratings for 2025 with more than 90 percent of communities voted on as “Best” status by residents and family members.
