[current_event_date]

DEVON, Pa.—Brightview Senior Living, a leader in senior living that builds, owns and operates more than 40 communities along the East Coast, celebrated the grand opening of Brightview Devon with more than 200 residents, family members and friends gathered to tour the community, located at 301 E. Conestoga Road in Wayne, Pa.

Founding members of Brightview Devon were commemorated at the event with a plaque to be displayed in the community.

“We opened our doors this past May for independent living and July for personal care, and since then, we have welcomed more than 65 residents to the community,” said Adam Rice, executive director. “These founding members are a cornerstone here at Brightview Senior Living because they represent the beginning of something that we know will be meaningful and will serve the greater community.”

Richard and Patricia Teichman, two founding members, spoke about their experiences since moving to the community, “After only living here six months, we already feel that we waited too long to come here. Our advice would be if you’re wondering about whether or not to make the move to a senior living community, to make the choice sooner because living at Brightview is wonderful.”

Brightview Devon, the 37th Brightview Senior Living community, opened and welcomed its first residents on May 21, 2019. The community is comprised of 171 apartment homes equipped to house residents with various levels of needs. Ninety-six apartments are designated as independent living, 50 apartments are dedicated personal care (also known as assisted living) and 25 units make up the Wellspring Village® neighborhood, designated for memory care and reserved for those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

“Brightview Devon is one of two communities in Pennsylvania, out of a total of 40 located on the east coast. We are grateful for the warm welcome we have received and we are looking forward to continuing to build relationships with our residents and their families for years to come,” added Doug Dollenberg, president of Brightview Senior Living.

Brightview Devon’s dining services director, Eugene Zonis, and the dining services team prepared a variety of dishes that are served at the community year-round including seared duck breast, salmon wellington, prime rib, lamb chops, chicken piccata and veal scallopini.
