Scottsdale, AZ – Cogir Senior Living proudly announces that Holly McMurray, Senior Vice President of Care and Compliance, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the California Assisted Living Association (CALA). McMurray steps into a board seat previously held by Cogir’s Vice-Chair of the Board of Director’s, David Eskenazy who has served as the Chairman of CALA’s Board for the past two years. Mr. Eskenazy will be stepping down from the CALA board as he begins service on the Argentum Board of Directors on a national level. This continues Cogir’s longstanding tradition of leadership and advocacy within California’s senior living sector.
California is home to the largest number of assisted living communities in the United States. CALA represents more than 650 providers and over 150 associate members, serving as the sole association dedicated exclusively to Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE), including Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Communities.
McMurray’s appointment reflects her extensive expertise, dedication, and track record of operational and clinical excellence. Her addition to the board ensures that Cogir, which manages more than 20 communities across California and is one of the state’s leading senior care providers, remains an active voice in shaping industry standards and championing resident-centered care.
“Holly’s appointment to the CALA Board of Directors is a well-earned recognition of her dedication, expertise, and leadership,” said Gottfried Ernst, President and COO of Cogir Senior Living. “The passion and caliber of talent on our team continues to open doors and drive positive impact across the senior living landscape. Holly will bring invaluable insight to CALA as they work to advance quality care for seniors throughout California.”
“I am honored to join the CALA Board of Directors and build upon the strong foundation established by David Eskenazy,” said Holly McMurray. “CALA plays a critical role in supporting providers and enhancing resident lives across California, and I look forward to collaborating with fellow board members to advocate for our communities, our teams, and the seniors we serve.”
