CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—Commonwealth Senior Living hosted its fifth annual Commonwealth Cares Golf Classic at the Birdwood Golf Course at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va., raised the largest amount to date, more than $172,000, for Commonwealth Cares, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to helping CSL employees suffering from unplanned financial hardships during a time of need.
“Since 2015, Commonwealth Cares has provided over $592,000 to 450 CSL associates,” said Tommy Comer, chief human resource officer at Commonwealth Senior Living. “Many of us are financially unprepared for a crisis such as a health scare, fire, or worse. Commonwealth Cares provides needed financial support for all of the amazing CSL associates who work to improve the lives of seniors every day so that they can rest easy.”
Commonwealth Cares assists employees of Commonwealth Senior Living suffering from severe financial hardship resulting from a catastrophic event in their lives. Through the support of sponsors and CSL associates, Commonwealth Cares provides grants that never need to be repaid. These grants help to bring stability and comfort back to the lives of individuals who need it most. Providing seniors and their families with high-quality care, dignity, respect, and compassion is a noble purpose and Commonwealth Cares is here to deliver assistance if associates ever need it.
