Commonwealth Senior Living Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer

Charlottesville, VA – April 13, 2026 – Commonwealth Senior Living is pleased to announce that Jack Burt has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Jack brings almost 20 years of senior living and multi-site leadership experience to Commonwealth having built a strong record of driving operational performance, strengthening culture, and improving financial results. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice-President of Operations, Senior Housing at MedCore Partners in Dallas, Texas.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Burt will be responsible for leading operations across all of Commonwealth’s communities and partnering closely with leaders at every level of the organization. His initial focus will be on supporting and developing our top talent associates, enhancing the resident and family experience, and continuing to build a high-performing organization that always finds a place for the best in the business to join our team..

Mr. Burt began working in the senior living as an Executive Director in Training at Emeritus Senior Living. He has since held numerous leadership positions at Benchmark, Horizon Bay, Brookdale, Senior Lifestyle, Senior Living NOI, and MedCore Partners. He has extensive experience in operational situations including turn arounds, renovations, and lease ups as well as stabilized assets.  He understands the organization’s investment strategy and will continue to emphasize operational improvements and strategic capital expenditures across our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities.
