Every Month Brings a New Reason to Say: I Love Senior Living

[current_event_date]

I Love Senior LivingSince its launch in May, the I Love Senior Living movement has begun doing exactly what it was created to do: bringing the people, moments and connections that make senior living extraordinary into the spotlight.

Across the country, senior living communities, professionals and industry partners are sharing stories using #ILoveSeniorLiving—and those stories are as diverse as the field itself.

They include residents laughing through friendly competitions, enjoying music, creating art and spending time with visiting therapy dogs. They celebrate team members whose compassion makes a community feel like home, leaders committed to developing stronger organizations and professionals who describe senior living not simply as a career, but as a calling.

One industry leader captured the spirit of the movement by describing senior living as “humanity organized around aging well.” Another reflected on the relationships that make the field feel like a close-knit community, writing that people may work for different organizations and serve in different roles, but they share the same passion for serving older adults and making a difference.

These are the stories the public needs to see—and they are only the beginning.

A Growing Movement

Dozens of stories using #ILoveSeniorLiving are already appearing across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, shared by senior living organizations, individual communities, residents, team members and industry advocates.

Recent posts have highlighted:

  • Residents participating in balloon races, indoor parachute activities, games, art projects and live musical performances.
  • A visit from therapy dogs that brought companionship, cuddles and plenty of smiles to residents in a memory care neighborhood.
  • A senior living team celebrating major community milestones by filling employees’ gas tanks as a gesture of appreciation.
  • Leadership teams graduating from a Disney Institute program and bringing what they learned back to their communities.
  • Team members being recognized for outstanding service, compassion, culinary innovation and leadership.
  • Residents, families and professionals sharing—in their own words—why they believe in senior living.

One simple hashtag is beginning to connect thousands of everyday moments into a larger, more complete picture of senior living today.

To help that picture continue to grow, Argentum is encouraging everyone who lives, works, volunteers or partners in senior living to follow the official I Love Senior Living channels on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, engage with the stories being shared and invite others to join the conversation.

Most importantly, remember to include #ILoveSeniorLiving in every relevant post. The hashtag allows Argentum and others across the field to find, celebrate and amplify your stories.

New Monthly Themes Make It Easy to Participate

Beginning in July, the I Love Senior Living movement will introduce a new theme each month to spark ideas and help communities showcase the many dimensions of senior living.

July: Red, White & Woo-Hoo!

Celebrate summer fun, community pride and patriotic spirit. Stories might feature Fourth of July celebrations, veterans, cookouts, parades, outdoor activities, intergenerational gatherings or residents sharing what freedom and community mean to them.

August: Ageless Hearts

August places residents and their life stories at the center of the movement. In recognition of National Senior Citizens Day, communities can share resident spotlights, talents, achievements, advice, unexpected adventures and examples of how people continue growing, contributing and inspiring at every age.

September: Generations of Heart

Celebrate the relationships, traditions and wisdom shared across generations. Grandparents Day, National Assisted Living Week, family visits, legacy stories, mentoring, intergenerational programs and longtime friendships all offer meaningful opportunities to participate.

October: Hearts in Motion

Show what active, engaged living looks like. Communities can spotlight wellness programs, movement, sports, creativity, lifelong learning, volunteerism, Active Aging Week activities and, of course, a little Halloween fun.

November: Grateful Hearts, Full Tables

November is a time to celebrate gratitude, hospitality, service and belonging. Stories can feature Thanksgiving traditions, Veterans Day recognitions, culinary teams, resident recipes, community meals, volunteer projects and the people who make everyone feel welcome at the table.

December: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Close the year by sharing the traditions, relationships and acts of kindness that make a senior living community feel like home. Holiday celebrations, resident traditions, decorating, music, giving projects, family gatherings and quiet moments of connection can all help tell the story.

The themes are designed as inspiration—not limitations. Any authentic story that reveals the heart of senior living belongs in the movement.

Tools to Help You Tell Your Story

A great story does not require professional equipment, a complicated production plan or a large marketing team. It can begin with a photograph, a short video or a few heartfelt sentences about something meaningful that happened today.

The I Love Senior Living website offers resources to make participation simple.

HeartSpark Studio

Not sure where to begin? HeartSpark Studio helps transform everyday moments into story ideas, captions, interview questions and short-video prompts. It is designed to help communities move from “We should share this” to a story that is ready to post.

Ready-to-Use Toolkits

Downloadable toolkits are available for senior living companies and communities, state associations and industry partners. The resources include campaign guidance, logos, caption starters, templates and ideas for inviting residents, families and team members to participate.

The campaign’s Story Bar also offers more than 25 caption starters covering joy, gratitude, community, caregiving, family perspectives and life in senior living.

Share Your Story

Stories can also be submitted through the I Love Senior Living website for possible inclusion in the movement’s growing collection of resident, family and team-member experiences.

Bring the Movement to Your Community

Communities can create their own I Love Senior Living activations through story walls, resident interviews, employee spotlights, family participation, themed events and opportunities for people to complete the sentence, “I love senior living because…”

The official HeartShop also offers campaign apparel, gifts and accessories that can help teams bring the movement into their communities and events.

Your Story Can Change the Story

Senior living is filled with compassion, purpose, friendship, innovation and joy, but too many of those moments are still seen only by the people who experience them firsthand.

That changes every time someone shares a story.

Follow the I Love Senior Living movement on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. Visit the I Love Senior Living website to explore the resources. Invite residents, families, employees and partners to participate.

Then capture one authentic moment, tell people why it matters and post it using #ILoveSeniorLiving.

Show the heart. Share the story. Strengthen the future.
