A group of Little Rock memory care residents delivered ice cold treats to help bolster some local student volunteers. Seniors at Pinnacle Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, handed out popsicles to worksites of the Ozark Mission Project.
The Ozark Mission Project transforms lives of Arkansans who cannot safely access their homes or may have difficulty completing minor repair and care projects on their homes. First United Methodist Church of Maumelle hosted over 100 volunteers serving in the community surrounding Little Rock.
Pinnacle Place resident Michael Offenberg, age 70, pitched in to help youth from Lovers Lane United Methodist Church of Dallas, TX, build a wheelchair ramp.
“While not all of our residents can assist in the physical labor, they still want to contribute to this meaningful effort,” said Nick Garrison, life engagement director for Pinnacle Place. “The young volunteers appreciated the cool treats and brief respite from the heat. It brought great joy to our residents to show their support of the youth who are helping our neighbors.”
