Honoring Heroes This Veterans Day: Share Your Community’s Plans

[current_event_date]

Veterans DayVeterans Day is one of those days when senior living communities really demonstrate what it means to “Tell Our Story.”

All year long, you’re doing the work of lifting up residents’ histories, honoring service, creating moments of dignity and so much more. Veterans Day just makes it easier for the rest of the world to see it.

We know communities celebrate in all kinds of ways: hallway or courtyard parades, Walls of Honor with resident photos, breakfast or luncheon tributes, pinning ceremonies, student choirs, letter-writing projects, quilt presentations, even quiet one-on-one visits with a veteran who prefers not to be in the spotlight. None of it is routine. It’s intentional. It says: we know who lives here, and we remember what they’ve done.

That’s the story we want to help tell.

Why share? As part of Argentum’s focus on Telling Our Story where we showcase the real, human, everyday impact of senior living, we’re gathering examples of how communities are honoring Veterans Day this year. When we share these moments, we don’t just celebrate your residents and team members; we also help families, policymakers, and future workers see the heart of this industry.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • A short description of what your community is doing for Veterans Day this year
  • Who is involved (residents, staff, local partners, veterans groups, students, etc.)
  • A quote or brief note about why this is meaningful to your community
  • Photos, if you have them (horizontal preferred)

Send your submissions to [email protected]. We’ll review what comes in and look for opportunities to feature them in Argentum channels so others can borrow your ideas, celebrate your residents, and amplify the message that senior living is a place where service is honored, not just on November 11, but throughout the year.
