As a reminder, employment authorization for Haitian Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries is scheduled to end this Friday, July 24, 2026. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued updated guidance on July 10 to extend employment authorization for Haitian TPS beneficiaries through July 24, 2026, pursuant to a court order in Miot et al. v. Trump et al. The extension applies to individuals with Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) bearing category codes A12 or C19 that were previously set to expire on July 10.
The July 24 deadline follows the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 25 decision in Mullin v. Doe, which permits the Administration to move forward with terminating TPS designations for Haiti, Syria, and several other countries. Under current USCIS guidance, employment authorization is scheduled to expire on the following dates:
- Haiti: July 24, 2026
- Syria: July 17, 2026
- Burma/Myanmar, Yemen, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan: July 17, 2026

SAVE Verification Continues Through July 24
USCIS has confirmed that the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program will continue to verify TPS status using TPS-related documentation, including Form I‑797 Approval Notices and Form I‑797C Notices of Action. SAVE responses may indicate employment authorization through July 24, 2026, for Haitian TPS beneficiaries and provide instructions directing employers to monitor USCIS TPS webpages for further developments.
