NORWOOD, Mass., February 1, 2023 – LCB Senior Living, a leading senior housing provider with more than 30 communities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, is proud to announce that Amber Evans has been named the Vice Chair of Education Outreach for the National Institute for Dementia Education’s Standard of Excellence Council.
Evans, the Director of Memory Care and Resident Engagement at LCB Senior Living, was recognized by the NIDE for her significant contributions to dementia care and education. In her leadership role on the Council, Evans will design educational guidelines to advance understanding of dementia in both the public and scientific community, and will create policies that further enrich the lives of people living with dementia nationwide.
“I am humbled to have been selected for this role on the Standard of Excellence Council,” Evans said. “The National Institute for Dementia Education is the leader in promoting high-level care for those living with dementia, and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to continue this work.”
Evans joined LCB Senior Living in 2014 and currently oversees all aspects of its renowned Reflections Memory Care program, which supports residents to become active and independent members of society through a mindful memory care approach. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, specializing in nonpharmacological and expressive art interventions for people living with dementia, as well as for their families.
