Freeman supports Sagora Senior Living communities across South Alabama. Her biggest takeaway from the conference’s theme, “Rhythm & Flow: Your Backstage Pass to Senior Living,” was that workforce stability, quality of care and strong communication with families are closely connected. Communities with strong teams and clear processes give residents better experiences and give families more confidence.
“Families make important decisions about care, often during stressful and emotional times,” said Freeman. “Senior living should feel less like a transaction and more like a trusted partnership. When we listen first and explain their options clearly, families feel more confident in the choice they make.”
Freeman said many families first call looking for basic information, only to learn they are also managing a health change, a hospital stay or a sudden loss of independence. She believes the first job is to listen and educate, not to sell.
“If we help a family understand their options and take the next step with confidence, even if that step isn’t with us, we’ve still made a difference,” Freeman said.
Freeman is available as a standing source on how families can plan for senior living, how communities can work with healthcare providers and what Alabama families should ask before making a decision. Photos from the conference are available for media use.
