WEST DES MOINES, Iowa—Lifespace Communities has appointed industry veteran Jesse Jantzen president and CEO. Over a nearly 30-year career, Jantzen has held similar positions with Ascension Living and Elder Care Alliance, various leadership positions with Life Care Services and, most recently, served as CEO of Lutheran Life Communities.
“We are excited to have Jesse join the team,” said Paula Shives, chair of the Lifespace board of directors. “He not only met all of the qualifications set by the board for this crucial role, but also demonstrated a strong commitment to servant leadership and growth. His depth of knowledge, people-centric leadership style and passion for residents and team members made him an ideal fit. Most important, we share his aspiration to make a difference in the field of aging.”
“Lifespace Communities has a great reputation and, given its size and scale, will be a key contributor to transforming the field of aging,” Jantzen said. “Our communities create environments where people thrive and dreams come to life in a purpose-driven reality. I am delighted to be joining the team.”
As Jantzen transitions into his new role, Larry Smith, the company’s interim president and CEO, will transition back to his role as the company’s CFO.
“We are grateful to Larry for the extraordinary service he has provided over the past year as we searched for our new CEO,” Shives said.
