This year, the Summit introduces a more purposeful program structure built around four leadership imperatives: Explore. Understand. Innovate. Commit.
Rather than presenting a collection of individual sessions, the new format creates a progression. Each stage of the Summit builds upon the one before it, helping leaders look ahead, examine the challenges affecting their organizations, consider new possibilities, and determine where they are prepared to take action.
Day One: Explore What’s Ahead
The Summit begins by widening the lens. On Monday, November 16, the focus will be on exploring the future and identifying the forces that will shape senior living in the years ahead. Leaders will consider how changing demographics, consumer expectations, workforce realities, technology, capital, and new models of service are influencing the industry’s direction.
The goal is not to predict the future with certainty. It is to recognize the signals that matter and understand where leaders should be paying attention now. What do tomorrow’s consumers expect from senior living? How might technology change the way organizations operate and serve residents? Where will new opportunities emerge—and which longstanding assumptions may need to be reconsidered?
By beginning with a shared view of the horizon, attendees will be better prepared for the deeper strategic conversations that follow.
Day Two: Understand the Challenges and Innovate the Model
On Tuesday, November 17, attendees will move from exploring what lies ahead to examining the strategic challenges organizations face—and the innovative approaches that could help address them.
The morning’s Understand focus will take a closer look at the pressures affecting performance, growth, and long-term sustainability. These conversations will move beyond identifying familiar challenges to exploring how they intersect and what those connections mean for executive decision-making.
A workforce decision may also be a technology decision. A capital decision may affect the resident experience. A new operational strategy may create implications for clinical leadership, marketing, risk management, or organizational culture. Leaders will have an opportunity to more clearly define the problems they need to solve, challenge assumptions, and learn from peers facing similar decisions across different organizations and markets.
In the afternoon, the program will shift from understanding challenges to innovating the model. Attendees will explore how new ideas, technologies, partnerships, and business practices can be applied to senior living’s most pressing priorities. The emphasis will be on innovation with purpose: approaches that can strengthen organizations, support team members, improve resident experiences, and position senior living for the future.
The conversation will focus on how promising ideas can move beyond a pilot program or presentation and become part of an organization’s operating model. What can be adapted? What can be scaled? What requires a new type of partnership? Where could a carefully chosen investment create meaningful change?
By bringing together leaders with different areas of expertise, the Summit will encourage cross-functional thinking and candid conversations about what it takes to turn a good idea into a practical strategy.
Day Three: Commit to Action
On Wednesday, November 18, the focus turns to commitment. Insight creates value only when it influences what happens next. The final day of the Summit will help executives bring together what they have explored, understood, and considered, and identify the priorities that deserve action within their organizations.
The Commit stage is intended to provide space for reflection, discussion, and decision-making. Leaders will consider what they will take back to their teams, which conversations need to continue, and where their organizations can begin making progress.
Attendees should leave Austin with more than pages of notes. They should return with greater clarity about what lies ahead, stronger connections to peers and partners, and a sharper sense of their next move.
A Summit Designed for Senior Decision-Makers
The Senior Living Leadership Summit is intentionally different from a large-scale conference. It is an intimate, executive-level gathering created for candid conversation, meaningful peer exchange, and relationship-building among the people making some of the industry’s most important decisions.
The Summit is designed for executives from senior living owner/operator organizations, REITs, private equity firms, and capital partners. Industry suppliers participate by invitation through Summit sponsorship, preserving a focused environment for strategic dialogue.
The 2026 program is being developed with guidance from an executive steering committee representing a range of senior living perspectives. Their involvement helps ensure the conversations reflect the decisions, challenges, and opportunities leaders are confronting now.
Senior living’s future will not be shaped by a single idea, organization, or leader. It will be shaped by the decisions the industry makes together. Join senior leaders in Austin to explore what is ahead, understand the terrain, innovate the model, and commit to the actions that will move senior living forward.
