Argentum State Partner, the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA), recently recognized some of the Commonwealth’s most outstanding assisted living professionals, volunteers, residents, and community leaders during its 2026 Excellence Awards Dinner, held July 23 at the enVision Hotel & Conference Center Mansfield-Foxboro.
The annual event celebrates individuals who exemplify the values of assisted living through exceptional leadership, innovation, service, and dedication to older adults. This year’s honorees were recognized for their meaningful contributions to residents, families, colleagues, and communities across Massachusetts.
Argentum congratulates all of the 2026 Excellence Award recipients and thanks Mass-ALA for its continued leadership in highlighting the individuals who elevate quality, compassion, and resident-centered care throughout the assisted living profession.
“These individuals represent the very best of assisted living,” said Mass-ALA President and CEO Brian Doherty. “Their dedication not only strengthens our communities but also reflects the continued advancement of quality care throughout the Commonwealth.”
The ceremony was emceed by renowned sports journalist and longtime Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan and brought together assisted living professionals from across Massachusetts to celebrate excellence in service to older adults.
Among the individuals recognized this year were:
- Nancy Andrie, Wingate Living, recipient of the Sales and Marketing Award, for her compassionate support of families navigating senior living decisions and her broader advocacy efforts on behalf of older adults.
- Telma Baganha, Autumn Glen at Dartmouth, recipient of the Care and Wellness Award, for her exceptional commitment to residents living with dementia and her unwavering support of residents and colleagues.
- Charlotte Beary, The Village at Willow Crossings, recipient of the Resident Spirit Award, for her resilience and dedication to helping fellow residents feel welcomed and connected.
- Jennifer French, Charter Senior Living of Danvers, recipient of the Life Enrichment Award, for creating innovative resident-focused programming that fosters engagement and community.
- Rex Garozzo, Bridges by EPOCH at Sudbury, recipient of the Volunteer Award, for his extraordinary efforts to support residents, including organizing a community-wide holiday gift drive.
- Alex Jean, Sunrise of Wayland, recipient of the Dining Services Award, for enhancing the dining experience through creativity, attentiveness, and resident-centered service.
- Bob Larkin, Senior Living Residences, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, for nearly four decades of leadership and advocacy that helped shape assisted living in Massachusetts.
- Laurie Pimentel, Carriage House at Lee’s Farm, recipient of the Facilities and Maintenance Award, for her technical expertise, creativity, and commitment to residents and staff.
- Kathy Pooler, Allerton House at The Village at Duxbury, recipient of the Employee Leadership Award, for her outstanding leadership and dedication to ensuring high-quality resident care.
- Karla Rossi, Stone Hill at Andover, recipient of the Executive Director Award, for fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and excellence within her community.
- Michael Wolf, Ruth’s House Assisted Living, recipient of the Program Innovation Award, for pioneering the use of technology and immersive programming to enhance memory care.
The evening also highlighted the important role assisted living professionals play in supporting older adults with dignity, independence, and quality of life. Through their leadership, creativity, and compassion, the 2026 award recipients demonstrate the positive impact assisted living communities have on residents and families every day.
