DALLAS—Pegasus Senior Living has announced that Steven Vick is resigning as chair and CEO. Co-founder Chris Hollister is taking over both roles.
Vick explained: “I have been battling some health problems for several years and felt it was time to retire. Chris has been my partner and co-founder in Pegasus since day one. I am confident he and his team will carry on the mission and the work to deliver quality care to our residents and the communities we serve.”
Hollister elaborated: “Steven has been a pioneer in the sector for almost 30 years. We wish him and his family the very best of health and happiness. Steven is not just a colleague but a friend. I have some big shoes to fill but look forward to this challenge with equal parts of humility and determination.”
Pegasus also made the following announcements regarding its senior team:
Richard Williams will be joining the company as chief operating officer starting on June 7. He was senior vice president of HHHunt’s senior living division since 2007.
“Rich and I worked together for 11 years as leaders at Southern Assisted Living,” said Hollister, “He had a key role in the development, acquisition, and day-to-day operation of assisted living and memory care communities that provided care and services to almost 2,700 residents across 42 communities, with a 92 percent average occupancy. Rich’s leadership philosophy, like mine, has always focused on a collaborative culture that instills trust among the team and peace of mind for the residents and their families. Rich brings over 36 years of experience in the health care industry including acute care hospital management and over 30 years of experience in senior living operations, acquisitions, development, and government relations.”
Daniel Leaf will be promoted from vice president of operations to senior vice president of operations. Chris notes, “Daniel has over 15 years of experience managing all aspects of senior living including stints in India and China. His strong customer service and team-building skills will be key as Rich and the operating team move things forward.”
Wade Mullis is being promoted from chief financial officer to chief financial and administrative officer. As Chris explains, “Wade is a key part of the senior team and this new title more accurately reflects his portfolio across several key areas of the company including IT, capital projects and maintenance, food service, contract administration, and home office management.”
