Senior living communities offering menu choices that include lots of fish, olive oil, veggies, and other foods common in Mediterranean-style cuisine could help residents ward off mild cognitive impairment, also known as borderline dementia.

According the research published in this month’s Archives of Neurology, the Mediterranean-style diet may also reduce the chances of transitioning from mild cognitive decline to Alzheimer’s disease.
