For many people, seeing a kangaroo is the kind of wonder they may only experience once in a lifetime. Residents of Artis Senior Living of Huntingdon Valley enjoyed a touch of Australia from the comfort of their own armchairs when a Daisy, little roo, visited the community at Lieberman Drive, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
The special animal encounter offered residents a joyful, sensory-rich experience filled with connection. From the surprise of meeting an animal rarely seen up close to the shared stories sparked by memories of pets and travel, the visit created moments residents will carry with them long after the kangaroo has hopped away.
“Most of us may never make it all the way to Australia or have the chance to see a kangaroo in person,” said Corey Compa, director of life enrichment for Artis Senior Living of Huntingdon Valley. “That is what made this visit so special. We brought a little piece of the land down under to our residents, right where they are most comfortable, and creating warm, memorable moments.”
