A Game with a Purpose
Spintopia was created to combat the loneliness and isolation many seniors experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Founder and CEO Sasha Dawn was inspired by her personal experience of being unable to visit her father in a senior living community, leading her to develop Utopia Experiences with the mission of promoting human connection and purpose.
Spintopia is an engaging tool that promotes intellectual stimulation and social interaction among seniors. Residents play in teams, earning points by spinning a dollar value bar and correctly guessing letters. The team with the highest score wins, providing a fun and competitive atmosphere.
Special Family Birthday Celebration
Games can also be customized for any resident. One family wanted to celebrate Ms. Anne’s 109th birthday but lived in different parts of the country. Collaborating with Utopia, family members from 3 different locations joined a custom Spintopia game via Zoom, creating a memorable and touching celebration. During the game, Ms. Anne’s recollection of her gardening passion from the 1940s brought joy and connection to her and her family, demonstrating the power of this interactive experience.
