Purple Flag Excellence in Dementia CareTM Partners with Oklahoma Senior Living Association

[current_event_date]

(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK June 3, 2025) – Purple Flag Excellence in Dementia Care™, a dementia care accreditation program adopted by senior living communities throughout the Northeast has formed a strategic partnership with the Oklahoma Senior Living Association (OKSLA), a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of dignity and choice for older Oklahomans and the quality of their care in the senior living setting.

This collaboration will elevate the region’s level of excellence and quality of life for senior living residents.

“This partnership is an excellent opportunity to combine Purple Flag and OKSLA’s knowledge and expertise to deliver unparalleled excellence in memory care to Oklahoma and beyond,” said Christopher Carter, President of the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA) and Purple Flag Founder/CEO. “OKSLA is an incredible organization that is dedicated to providing only the best for those under its care, and we at Purple Flag are elated to grow our network of accredited senior living and memory care communities with them.”

The Oklahoma Senior Living Association represents over 75% of the licensed assisted living communities in Oklahoma. In addition to assisted living providers, its membership includes a licensed continuum of care communities, residential care communities, and independent senior living providers. OKSLA also has over 70 active Industry Partners that support its mission.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with such an esteemed memory care leader as Purple Flag,” said Melissa Holland, President of OKSLA. “Together, we will strive to provide the highest level of care for residents living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.”

More than six million Americans currently live with Alzheimer’s disease, and 11 million more provide unpaid care for those with dementia (Alzheimer’s Association, 2023). The need for high-quality, dependable, trustworthy memory support options has never been greater. The Purple Flag Excellence in Dementia Care™ Accreditation standards, which include a quality framework and specific required elements, are considered essential and valuable to making a difference in the care of a person living with dementia.

“We look forward to working with OKSLA to further drive excellence in dementia care throughout both of our organizations,” said Carter. “Our combined resources provide an opportunity to set an even higher standard of excellence for Alzheimer’s and dementia care quality of life.”
