Two retired police officers, now residents at Willowbrook Place in Littleton, CO, were recently honored for their decades of service during a heartfelt gathering with a current Jefferson County Police Department officer.

Officer Mark Bybee visited the Anthem Memory Care community to connect with Tony Ryan, who served with the Denver Police Department for 36 years and Dennis Dellacqua, a 25-year veteran of the Detroit Police. The afternoon was filled with stories and memories as the officers reminisced about their time in law enforcement. As a gesture of appreciation, Bybee presented both retirees with sheriff patches and commemorative challenge coins. 

“This was a meaningful opportunity for our residents to connect with their past and be honored for their service,” said Leslie Rusher, life engagement director for Willowbrook Place. “We believe it’s important to celebrate the lives and achievements of our seniors, and events like these foster a sense of pride and belonging. It’s truly special to see our residents light up when they are recognized for the impact they’ve made in their communities.”
