Seniors at Clear Creek found drumming to be a fun way to get exercise and improve their coordination.
Some Arkansas seniors are getting fit, one beat at a time. Residents at Clear Creek, an Anthem Memory Care community embraced fitness when they learned cardio drumming at the community located at 1967 W. Truckers Dr., Fayetteville, AR. 
The drumming circle is a unique exercise program where participants use stability balls and drumsticks to move to the music and rhythm. An instructor led the residents through a series of stretches, routines and other exercises along with fun, dance music. 
“Our residents benefited from physical activity, stimulation, socialization, rhythm and laughter,” said Deborah Douglas, life engagement director for Clear Creek. “Our residents love all music and got an extra kick out of creating their own.”
