The Conversations Senior Living Leaders Need to Be Having Are Happening in Austin

[current_event_date]

Senior living leaders are making consequential decisions in an environment that is changing quickly. Demand is growing. New supply remains constrained. Workforce pressures continue to shape operations. Artificial intelligence is moving from experimentation into real business applications. And a rapidly changing consumer is forcing organizations to think differently about what the next generation of residents will expect.

Those are not challenges that can be solved by simply keeping up with the latest headlines. They require time with other leaders who are wrestling with the same decisions.

That is what makes the Senior Living Leadership Summit, November 16–18 in Austin, different. The Summit is designed to bring senior living executives and decision-makers together for focused conversations about the forces shaping their organizations, and what they should be doing about them now.

Come Prepared to Think Differently

The Summit agenda goes beyond identifying trends. Sessions are built around issues with direct implications for senior living strategy and performance.

Leaders will examine the widening gap between demographic demand and a historically thin development pipeline, and what that means for growth, occupancy and the future of the market. They’ll explore where artificial intelligence is producing meaningful results, how organizations can approach adoption and ROI, and what the technology means for trust, leadership and the workforce.

The conversation will also tackle labor, succession, organizational resilience, risk and other issues that directly affect leaders’ ability to position their organizations for what comes next.

And this year’s keynote brings another important perspective to the discussion. Bill Gifford, co-author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Outlive, will explore longevity and the enormous influence baby boomers will have on the future of senior living. For operators, that conversation has implications far beyond wellness, from community design and programming to the resident experience and how organizations prepare to serve a generation with very different expectations.

The Value Is Also Who Is in the Room

Some of the most important Summit conversations won’t happen from the stage. The Summit creates opportunities for executives to compare notes with peers, challenge assumptions and talk candidly about what they are seeing inside their own organizations.

What is actually working with AI? How are other operators thinking about growth when demand is accelerating but development remains difficult? How are leaders preparing their teams for the next several years? What are they changing because of the emerging senior living consumer?

Those conversations can be difficult to replicate in a webinar, report or larger conference environment. The value comes from being able to hear an idea in a session, discuss it with another executive over dinner and return home with a different perspective on a decision already sitting on your desk.

That is why the Summit is intentionally about more than education. It is about creating the environment for senior living leaders to think, connect and make better-informed decisions about what comes next.
