Senior living leadership development program helps emerging leaders strengthen teams, navigate challenges, and grow with confidence
Strong leadership has always been essential in senior living. But in today’s environment, where communities are navigating workforce pressures, rising expectations, operational complexity, and rapid change, leadership development is no longer simply a professional growth opportunity. It is a strategic necessity. To help prepare the next generation of senior living leaders, Argentum is now accepting nominations for the Fall 2026 cohort of its Leadership Advancement and Development program, known as LEAD.
Designed specifically for senior living professionals who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey, LEAD provides participants with practical tools, personalized coaching, peer connection, and evidence-based leadership strategies they can immediately apply within their organizations and communities.
“Effective leadership is essential to the success of senior living,” said James Balda, president and CEO of Argentum. “Strengthening the LEAD program underscores our continued commitment to developing the next generation of leaders who will advance innovation, build stronger communities, and support exceptional care.”
Building Leaders for the Future of Senior Living
The senior living industry is poised for significant growth as the nation’s older adult population continues to expand. At the same time, organizations are facing persistent workforce challenges, increased competition for talent, and the need to build cultures that support retention, resilience, and long-term success. LEAD was created to meet that moment.
The program helps participants move beyond day-to-day management and develop the confidence, clarity, and strategic thinking needed to lead people, strengthen teams, and drive meaningful results. It is especially valuable for emerging leaders, executive directors, regional and corporate team members, and high-potential professionals preparing for expanded responsibility.
Participants explore real-world leadership challenges through a senior living lens, with a curriculum focused on areas such as workplace culture, talent retention, communication, decision-making, change management, and team effectiveness.
Practical Tools Leaders Can Use Right Away
One of the hallmarks of LEAD is its focus on practical application. The program is not built around abstract leadership theory. Instead, participants learn tools, models, and frameworks they can begin using immediately with their teams.
Past program components have included practical exercises such as the Eisenhower Matrix to help leaders prioritize competing demands, coaching exercises to support reflection and growth, leadership journals, templates, and a Change Catalyst Proposal designed to help participants identify and address a meaningful opportunity within their organization.
Through this structure, participants are encouraged to connect what they are learning directly to the realities of their own roles. Whether they are navigating staffing challenges, working to improve communication, supporting culture change, or preparing for broader leadership responsibilities, LEAD gives participants a place to practice, reflect, and grow.
Coaching, Collaboration, and Peer Connection
In addition to its curriculum, LEAD offers personalized coaching and interactive workshops that allow participants to learn from seasoned experts as well as one another.
The cohort model is intentionally designed to create a supportive, collaborative environment. Participants have the opportunity to engage with peers from across the senior living industry, share common challenges, exchange ideas, and build a professional network that extends beyond the program itself.
That peer connection is one of the program’s greatest strengths. Senior living leaders often face complex decisions in fast-moving environments. LEAD gives participants a dedicated space to step back, reflect, ask questions, test ideas, and gain perspective from others who understand the unique demands of the field.
A Program Grounded in Senior Living
Delivered in partnership with KGH Consulting, LEAD is tailored specifically for the senior living industry. The program reflects the realities of leading in communities and organizations that are deeply people-centered, operationally complex, and mission-driven.
Participants are challenged to think about leadership not only in terms of business outcomes, but also in terms of people, culture, purpose, and impact. That balance is especially important in senior living, where strong leadership affects team members, residents, families, and the broader community.
By focusing on evidence-based leadership models and real-world application, LEAD helps participants build skills that support both personal growth and organizational performance.
Nominations Open for Fall 2026
The Fall 2026 LEAD cohort is now accepting nominations. Cohorts are capped at 24 participants to preserve the interactive, high-value nature of the experience, and early nominations are encouraged.
Nominations will be accepted through August 3, 2026.
For organizations looking to invest in rising leaders, strengthen succession planning, support retention, and build leadership capacity, LEAD offers a focused and meaningful opportunity to develop talent from within.
Senior living’s future will be shaped by the leaders prepared to meet the moment. Through LEAD, Argentum is helping those leaders build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to guide their teams, strengthen their communities, and advance the industry.
