If you weren’t able to join Argentum’s member briefing on Wednesday, December 10, the new Year-End Snapshot video recap was created with you in mind. In just a few minutes, it captures the biggest moments from 2025 including advocacy wins, member-driven momentum, workforce and leadership investments, and what’s coming next in 2026. It’s also a helpful way to share Argentum’s priorities internally, so your leadership team and rising leaders alike understand how membership translates into real outcomes for senior living providers and the people they serve.
The video isn’t simply a highlight reel. It’s a clear, confident snapshot of what Argentum is working on, why it matters, and where members can plug in to shape what happens next. If you want the “big picture” of 2025 plus a practical preview of what’s ahead, this recap is worth your time, and easy to pass along to colleagues who couldn’t attend the call.
The big picture: how Argentum delivers member value
At its core, Argentum exists to strengthen and advance senior living. As the leading national trade association dedicated exclusively to the industry, Argentum’s value isn’t delivered in one single program or one single moment. It shows up across the year through advocacy, insights, education, and solutions.
That means ensuring member voices are heard by lawmakers and regulators, providing exclusive knowledge that helps leaders navigate an evolving landscape, offering education and networking that elevates leadership and operational excellence, and developing practical resources designed to help communities optimize workforce operations and care delivery. In the video you’ll see that all of these themes come together, making the connection between membership and impact clear, tangible, and timely.
The strategy behind the work: Argentum’s critical imperatives
The recap also reinforces the strategy that guides everything Argentum takes on. These critical imperatives are not slogans, rather, they’re the throughline behind Argentum’s policy priorities, workforce development, education offerings, and resource expansion.
First, Argentum is focused on developing people by expanding, strengthening, and retaining diverse talent across the industry. At the same time, Argentum is committed to measuring what matters by advancing data and transparency so leaders can make decisions rooted in facts, not assumptions. Equally important is telling our story: not just to celebrate the good work happening in senior living, but to advocate for the industry with clarity and credibility. Finally, Argentum is working to increase access by curating new solutions and policy support that help communities deliver exceptional care and build resilient operations. Together, these imperatives form a practical roadmap for driving progress—one that members are actively shaping.
Advocacy highlights: a strong year on Capitol Hill and in communities
The Year-End Snapshot underscores what many members already know…when senior living speaks with one voice, it gets results. In 2025, James Balda was recognized as a Top Lobbyist by The Hill for the fourth year in a row, an acknowledgment of sustained influence and consistent advocacy on behalf of members and the older adults we serve.
That momentum showed up in the numbers. During the Public Policy Fly-in, Argentum held 110 congressional meetings that included 118 attendees representing 30 states, while the Argentum team conducted more than 200 additional meetings with federal lawmakers. But perhaps the most meaningful advocacy work happened closer to home, where members hosted more than 130 community visits with elected officials. Those visits bring the story of senior living to life in a way no briefing document ever could, through resident experiences, caregiver dedication, family perspectives, and the realities of day-to-day operations.
The video also includes a simple call-to-action for expanding these visits in 2026. If you’ve ever wondered how to get involved in advocacy in a way that feels doable and genuinely impactful, community visits are one of the most effective places to start. Download the Community Visits with Lawmakers Toolkit to access the tools you need to set up effective conversations with legislators at one of your communities. It includes sample invitations you can send to lawmakers, a sample itinerary or tour structure, best practices for preparing for your visit, and more.
Policy progress worth celebrating
Advocacy isn’t only measured in meetings, it’s measured in outcomes. Throughout 2025 there were several meaningful policy advances, including a major moment earlier in the year when Argentum President and CEO James Balda testified before the Senate Aging Committee in support of the SENIOR Act. During that testimony, he spoke to the importance of assisted living and the need to combat senior loneliness, an issue that continues to affect health, quality of life, and well-being across communities nationwide.
The video also spotlights a win that will directly expand care choices for those who served: the Veterans Assisted Living Pilot Program being signed into law. This program represents an important step forward in ensuring veterans have more options and more support when they need assisted living services.
There were also other “pro-senior” policy successes, including measures focused on tax deductions for older adults, permanent expansion of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, and allowing 529 plans to be used for vocational training, policy shifts that can have ripple effects for older adults, families, and the workforce supporting them.
Events to put on your radar
The Year-End Snapshot doesn’t stop at what happened in 2025; it also looks forward, inviting members to gather, learn, and connect in 2026. Argentum encourages members to join the Senior Living Executive Conference in Nashville for three dynamic days of inspiration, education, and networking. These events are designed not just to deliver content, but to build relationships, swap strategies, and walk away with ideas leaders can put into practice.
Later in the year, the Senior Living Leadership Summit heads to Austin, Texas, coming off a record attendance year and focused on the emerging innovations and trends that will shape senior living in the years to come. If you’re thinking about how to prepare your organization for what’s next, workforce pressures, new models of care, tech acceleration, and changing consumer expectations, these gatherings are where those conversations get real.
Developing the workforce and investing in your team
One message in the recap lands with particular clarity: the best way to retain your team is to invest in your team. Workforce challenges don’t have simple fixes, but leaders do have a powerful lever, development. Argentum’s approach emphasizes leadership development, credentialing, and accessible online training programs that help build skills, confidence, and career momentum.
The video also reinforces that membership is designed to make that investment more attainable. Members receive valuable benefits such as registration discounts, and Premier members receive even more, earning free access to select online programs. For organizations trying to balance budgets with the need to develop and retain talent, these benefits aren’t “nice extras.” They are practical tools that can help strengthen teams in a measurable way.
Women in Leadership: advancing the industry
In 2025, Argentum’s Women in Leadership program reached, engaged, and inspired thousands of women across senior living through innovative programming and vibrant networking. But the real impact goes beyond attendance numbers. This initiative continues to build something that the industry needs deeply: community, connection, and pathways for women leaders to grow, be seen, and support one another.
The recap also previews how Argentum will build on this success in 2026. Plans include an after-hours reception in Nashville, a third annual Fall Forum in Dallas, and the continuation of the monthly speaker series. Mentor Match is also expected to return, helping connect leaders across career stages. Argentum will also explore a university mentoring initiative, an exciting signal that the program is thinking not only about today’s leaders, but the next generation as well. Special thanks to the supporters who helped elevate women leaders across the industry in 2025. Let’s keep the momentum going in 2026.
Workforce partnerships: expanding the pipeline and building career pathways
Another standout moment in 2025 is the scale of Argentum’s workforce partnerships. In 2025, these partnerships opened a pipeline of talent to nearly 145,000 career seekers, an impressive figure driven by apprenticeship expansion, senior living–focused career fairs, stronger job center relationships, and new collaborations with associations, educational institutions, and veterans training programs.
But we can’t say “mission accomplished” just yet. Instead, we continue to expand, to help career seekers and workforce organizations with standardized career pathways. People want to understand how to enter senior living, what skills and training are needed, how to advance, and what long-term growth can look like.
Argentum has introduced a major 2026 initiative where the association will develop career pathway frameworks that create clearer progression for roles across the industry. Over the next 12 to 18 months, this work will focus on establishing career levels, mapping vertical and horizontal growth pathways, and aligning education and training requirements for each role. It’s the kind of foundational work that strengthens recruiting, improves retention, and makes senior living careers easier to communicate, and easier to pursue.
Get involved: committees, engagement, and your “path” with Argentum
Argentum’s success is built on member engagement. To help move strategies from ideas to action, Argentum has expanded its committee structure in 2026, creating more opportunities for members to contribute expertise, shape priorities, and drive measurable industry progress. If you’ve ever wanted a more direct way to influence the direction of senior living, volunteering is a powerful way to do it. Learn more about how you can get involved.
It is important to note that Premier membership is a particularly meaningful engagement path. Premier members help set the agenda, gain deeper insight, unlock additional support for their teams, and maximize the value of membership, all while further supporting Argentum’s mission through their financial contributions.
To help members activate, you are encouraged to “choose your path” whether advocacy, insights, events, or education, then connect with the membership team to explore a Premier upgrade if you haven’t already. From there, the invitation is simple: activate your team. Argentum offers pathways where staff at every level can find their place, build their skills, and contribute to the broader movement of advancing senior living.
Watch the recap and share it
If you take away one action from this article, let it be this: watch the Year-End Snapshot video recap, and share it with your team. It’s a fast way to get aligned on what Argentum achieved in 2025, what members made possible, and where the industry is headed in 2026.
Whether you’re planning budgets, setting strategic priorities, building workforce plans, or simply looking for a clear narrative to share with leaders and staff, the recap gives you that story in a compelling, easy-to-digest format. And it ends with the most important message of all: thank you. Your engagement, your support, and your advocacy are what move the industry forward, and Argentum is looking ahead to continue advancing senior living together in 2026.
