Commonwealth Senior Living Raises $200,000 for Commonwealth Cares

Commonwealth Cares Provides Financial Relief to Associates Experiencing Unexpected Challenges

Charlottesville, VA – October 29, 2024 – Commonwealth Senior Living announces that it raised $200,000 at its annual Commonwealth Cares Charity Golf Tournament which took place on October 7, 2024. Commonwealth Cares is a 501(c)(3) organization that assists Commonwealth Senior Living associates and their families during times of financial hardship.

Earl Parker, President and CEO of Commonwealth Senior Living, shared during the event, “Our 9th annual golf tournament to support Commonwealth Cares was an amazing success. We had a great day of golf and fellowship with our partner sponsors and raised a record amount of money to support our associates in times of unplanned financial needs.”

Commonwealth Cares exemplifies the heart of Commonwealth Senior Living’s Core Values, specifically, We CARE about people and We do the RIGHT thing. The charitable foundation provides financial relief to associates experiencing life’s unexpected challenges, such as medical emergencies, housing crises, or the loss of a loved one. Since its inception in 2016, Commonwealth Cares has distributed over $800,000 to support approximately 674 associates.

This year’s golf tournament Care Partners included: Essensa & Innovatix, EmpowerMe, Southern Pharmacy, and Invesque and our Respect Partners: Allen Flores Consulting Group, Fox Rehabilitation, GTI Laboratories, The J.M. Smucker Company, McDonald Building Company, McGriff Insurance Services, Mohawk Flooring, and Yardi.

Tommy Comer, Chief Human Resources Officer, added, “The Commonwealth Cares Golf Classic embodies our core values by bringing together our team and community partners to support those in need. It reflects our dedication to not only serve residents and families but also to give back and care for the greater good.”
