A standing-room-only crowd gathered for a interactive panel discussion with some of the senior living industry top executives, who shared their companies’ growth and operational strategies amid the current market environment.
Among those senior living executives who participated in the discussion, a special session held during the ALFA Conference & Expo last week, were: Brenda Bacon, President & CEO, Brandywine Senior Living; Steve Benjamin, President/COO, Horizon Bay Retirement Living, Tom Grape, Chairman/CEO, Benchmark Assisted Living; Mike Leader, President/CEO, Country Meadows Retirement Communities; Loren Shook, President/CEO & Chairman, Silverado Senior Living; and Tiffany Tomasso, Executive VP, European Operations, Sunrise Senior Living.
Comments and questions ran the gamut of senior living operations, especially given the current economy, and included topics such as:
- Strategies for expanding dementia care services as need and demand increase
- Enhancing resident care and working with families who are being affected by the economic downturn
- Preserving the company brand amid mergers, acquisitions, or other operational changes
- Providing executive directors the tools they need to control and streamline staffing costs
- Achieving clarity of mission among staff and the importance of “keeping the dream alive” about the company
