

GAINESVILLE, Va.—Retirement Unlimited, Inc. (RUI), a Virginia family-owned and operated senior living community management company established in 1984, has named Amanda Waggy and Alissa Schroeder as senior directors of sales and business development for the northern Virginia region.
As part of RUI’s growth strategy, Doris-Ellie Sullivan, president, has expanded the sales team to accommodate the openings of two communities in 2019, a community opening in 2020, and two additional communities in the development phase in Virginia.
Waggy has been with RUI since 2016 as director of marketing and community relations for several northern Virginia communities. She has experience in both long-standing and lease-up communities and has been a part of the senior healthcare industry for nearly 10 years. Waggy acquired her bachelor of science degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. In her new position, Waggy with oversee sales and business development for Ashleigh at Lansdowne Community and The Wellington at Lake Manassas Community.
Alissa Schroeder has been with RUI since 2017 as director of marketing and community relations for several northern Virginia communities. Schroeder started her career in senior living 20 years ago as an activity assistant in an assisted living community. Schroeder acquired her associates degree in hotel management from Erie Community College, her bachelor’s degree in hospitality administration from Buffalo State College, and her master’s in business administration from Medaille College, all located in Buffalo, N.Y. In her new position, Schroeder with oversee sales and business development for Heatherwood Community in Burke, Aarondale Community in Springfield, and Paul Spring Community in Alexandria.
Both Waggy and Schroeder are able to blend their compassion for the senior population with outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills. They will continue to bring their knowledge and experience by successfully promoting independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities to help cultivate value and excitement for leads, professionals, and team members.
