Senior Living Leaders Convene for ALFA Executive Roundtable Summit
Information Technology and Dining Services Roundtables Make Their Debut

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Many of the nation’s most experienced and influential executives in the senior living business recently convened for the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) Executive Roundtable Summit, October 12-13, in Minneapolis.

ALFA’s Executive Roundtables are exclusive, by-invitation-only peer groups comprised of the nation’s leading senior living professionals from a variety of disciplines and functional areas. Members work cooperatively throughout the year and meet in person annually at the Executive Roundtable Summit to discuss their most pressing business challenges and develop strategic solutions for the future of senior living.

ALFA’s Executive Roundtables include: CFO/Senior Finance; COO/SVP of Operations; Sales and Marketing; Clinical Quality; Human Resources; Regional Executives; and Government Relations. Plus, two new ALFA Executive Roundtables made their debut in Minneapolis—Information Technology and Dining Services. Membership for each Executive Roundtable is exclusive to a company’s senior-most executive serving in that specific functional area or corporate responsibility.

This
year, the economy was a common theme
throughout all of the Roundtable meetings, says Richard
Grimes, ALFA’s President & CEO. “ And the
news was not all dismal. Better performing properties are still performing well,
according
to the COO Roundtable members. And
communities that have good teams, being led by experienced executive directors, have
satisfied residents and staff.”

More than 80 Executive Roundtable members met at the Summit this year, including representatives from these ALFA-member companies: Assisted Living Concepts, Bell Senior Living, Benchmark Assisted Living, Bickford Senior Living, BPM Senior Living, Brandywine Senior Living, Brightview Senior Living, Brookdale Senior Living, Carlton Senior Living, Country Meadows Retirement Communities, Emeritus Senior Living, Five Star Senior Living, Horizon Bay Retirement Living, IntegraCare, Integral Senior Living, Pathway Senior Living, Senior Resource Group, Silverado Senior Living, Sunrise Senior Living, The Arbor Company. The Kinetic Group sponsored this year’s Executive Roundtable Summit.

Executive Roundtable topics included health-care costs and insurance strategies, occupancy trends, employee retention and recruitment, performance metrics, resident assessments, state regulatory activity, fall prevention strategies, and pandemic plans to keep residents as safe as possible from seasonal and H1N1 flu.
