ST. PAUL, Minn.—Vista Prairie Communities (VPC), a nonprofit provider of assisted living, independent living, memory care and care suites in Minnesota, Iowa, and Ohio, has announced the appointment of Anna Petersmeyer as vice president and chief operating officer.
Petersmeyer joins VPC on Nov. 2, from Volunteers of America–Minnesota and Wisconsin (VOA-MN/WI) where she has served as COO for nearly three years. She formerly was VOA-MN/WI’s vice president-services and the director of housing management and senior services. In her current role, Anna is responsible for all VOA-MN/WI operations. Before VOA, she was director of housing and community based services for Cerenity Senior Care.
“Vista Prairie is fortunate to welcome a leader of this caliber and experience to our executive leadership team,” said VPC president and CEO Jim Bettendorf. “Anna will be responsible to lead our assisted living and memory care services to provide an exceptional lifestyle for the residents of our communities. Our community executive directors and our organizational director of health care will report to her.”
Petersmeyer grew up farming in rural Wisconsin. She remains a self-proclaimed farm girl and is a licensed social worker. She serves on the VOA National Housing board of directors, has served on LeadingAge’s housing, home care and assisted living and HUD/affordable housing committees. Petersmeyer received the 2015 Leadership Award from National Volunteers of America for outstanding operational management in Housing, Older Adult Services and Assisted Living. She’s a member of the Executive Non-Profit Round Table, a group comprising executives from LeadingAge and several long-term care organizations. She holds a BA in social work from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an MBA from Bethel University.
